Work on the car after the shunt at Thunderhill is almost done with a new nose grafted on and a new alignment. The cause of the incident was discovered to be a lost droop limiter, which came adrift just before the bump at turn three where the car gets light. With this component gone as Martin crested the rise the back suspension went to full droop and the tire contact patch went from 12" to 2" instantaneously, causing the car to swap ends. The new parts are in hand and another item is added to the checklist!
Work constraints will keep the tem from participating in the double regional at Laguna Seca as originally planned but Team Elf will be "back in the Saddle" the following weekend, July 6-7 for the first SCCA regional and the newly renovated Sear Point Raceway, the team's home track. Hope to see you out there!
Also at that race Team ELf will be announcing the acquisition of its latest sponsor for the 2002 season!
